Position Summary:
The DevOps unit in the Libraries’ IT Department is primarily responsible for web/application development, web server/service administration, and cloud computing services. The unit also has responsibilities in cybersecurity, backups, administration of the Libraries Services Platform (library catalog) and database administration.
Provides advanced programming support for the Libraries’ web services. Serves as lead web developer for Libraries’ public and internal web sites with duties in CMS administration, web design, UX, and accessibility. Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced software professional with a full understanding of industry practices, community standards and relevant policies and procedures to medium-sized projects or portions of large projects with moderate scope and complexity. Resolves a wide range of issues. Demonstrates competency in selecting tools, methods and techniques to obtain results.

$73,900.00 – $88,850.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $73,894.32 – $133,694.64 (Annual Salary)
Required:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expertise in website design, modification, implementation, and deployment. Advanced knowledge in administering and working within a content management system (preferably Drupal) or similar web frameworks. Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans. Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis. Expertise in usability and accessibility for application development and web content. Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums. Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Thorough experience with common programming tools. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated broad problem solving skills. Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively and to promote teamwork, diversity, equality, and inclusiveness within UCI Libraries and the campus.
Preferred:
Experience in working with Amazon Web Services developer tools.
