Responsibilities
The Office of Financial Aid is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management’s integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student’s development and progression in their academic experience – from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University.
Position is responsible for coordinating, planning, administering, reviewing and evaluation of financial aid initiatives through the University’s Diversity and Recruitment Programs housed within the Office of Financial Aid. This position coordinates the outreach and awarding of financial aid specific to students in underrepresented and low-income populations. Works with staff from the Office of Admissions in the coordination and management of the High School Partners Program (HSPP) as well as coordinates with staff from the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE) on program goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
Position is responsible for developing and implementing financial aid initiatives through the University’s Diversity and Recruitment programs to recruit students from historically underrepresented, first-generation, and socio-economically disadvantaged students. Assists staff from the Office of Admissions and Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement on program goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Responsible for the awarding, processing, and monitoring of all related aid within this program and ensures timely dissemination of financial aid funds.
Under the direction of the Financial Aid Outreach Manager, position develops outreach training programs for the Office of Financial Aid in accordance with federal, state and institutional policies. Responsible for conducting information sessions and FAFSA/Financial Aid workshops to increase financial literacy and to educate students on financial aid processes for eligibility; document completion requirements and all aspects of financial aid delivery; repayment options and debt counseling to ensure students make informed decisions, etc. This will include financial aid processes such as return of Title IV; takes corrective action as needed to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional policy as a result of students officially or unofficially withdraws from the university and calculates the return of federal title IV funds as it pertains to the program. Reviews, monitors, evaluates and improves processes related to withdrawals.
Extensive travel to high schools to counsel prospective students and families about the process of applying for financial aid and the financial aid opportunities available at the University.
Participates in special events hosted by the Office of Admissions, CARE and Office of Financial Aid such as Preview, Orientation and Counselor workshops.
Shares in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures; making suggestions and recommendations to Financial Aid Outreach Manager. Assists with coordinating student financial programs and other sections during peak times to support the goals of the Office of Financial Aid.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position is at $42,000.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
