Summary:
The Academic Coordinator, at the LCCWP – Youth Employment Project, is responsible for providing comprehensive academic enrichment services, GED prep, tutoring and advisement to program participants and assisting them in making decisions affecting their educational progress and goals. The incumbent reports to the Program Manager, supervises student worker tutors, and works directly with participants whose educational goals include GED / high equivalency obtainment, basic skills deficient and post-secondary education. The candidate schedules group tours at colleges, arrange presentations with financial aid representatives, assist students with completing their FAFSA and college applications. The Academic Coordinator acts as a liaison for enrolled participants and collects necessary placement documentation for data/audit purposes. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach, motivate, and relate positively to youth and young adult learners; learn and utilize educational tools, websites, resources, and technologies effectively; and enter data electronically in a timely manner. This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
