The Marketing and Digital Content Specialist will plan and coordinate marketing and communications efforts and initiatives across the college. This position supports the College’s interdisciplinary programs (OIP) and research centers and institutes, and assists the Arts and Sciences (CAS) marketing communications team in advancing CAS strategic goals through impactful and consistent marketing communications. 1. Develop and implement marketing/communication strategies for Office of Interdisciplinary Programs (OIP)-coordinated events, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)-sponsored events and CAS Research Center and Institute events
* Works with Program Directors, the OIP Manager and the Manager of Graduate Programs to develop event marketing and communication strategies
* Manages the creation, preparation and publication of various types of communication such as fliers, brochures, invitations, newsletters, announcements and others at the request of the Program and Center Directors
* Manages the production of printed materials by working with Mountain Hawk Design or soliciting bids from external vendors; reviews promotional materials prior to printing
* Identifies audiences with Program Directors for specific events and develops marketing strategies accordingly
* Manages promotion of events on University calendars and various announcement venues; develops and sends weekly events email as appropriate to all CAS faculty/staff/students/community
* Purchase advertising or write copy for events to be placed in local media
2. Manages CAS websites
* Works with Program and Center Directors and OIP to manage website content and images
* Works with departments to maintain and enhance website content and images
* Offers clients recommendations for website content and design
3. Markets and communicates Lehigh and community events/opportunities via newsletters, mass emails or other similar communication distribution systems
* Works with Programs, Centers and OIP to gather database of email distribution lists for newsletters and emails which includes all CAS faculty/staff/students, specific interdisciplinary programs and other LU personnel and local community members
* Sends emails for all departments/programs in the CAS as well as outside offices and programs on campus as requested to promote events and announcements
* Sends targeted information to students, faculty and staff at request of Program and Center Directors or CAS Administrators
4. Marketing and communication support
* Develop, edit and post various CAS social media posts
* Work with the Web Content and Social Media Manager to implement strategies geared towards engaging prospective students, current students, staff, faculty and CAS alumni
* Post several times a week on CAS Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts
* Design and distribute weekly college-wide email announcements
* Maintain College-wide events calendar

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mass communication, Journalism, English, Marketing or Public Relations or the equivalent combination of education and experience
One to three years related work experience
Excellent oral and written communications skills
High degree of creativity, resourcefulness, and innovation within University brand standards
Sound project management skills to prioritize, initiate, and complete multiple and diverse projects and tasks with competing deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment within CAS and with campus-wide colleagues, and engaging others in an authentic, open, and positive manner
Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and principles and practices of graphic design
Experience in higher education is preferred
Experience in social media campaigns
Familiarity with email marketing products such as MailChimp and Constant Contact
Familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal 9 and WordPress
