3. Holds active American Registry in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certifications in Adult Echocardiography
EXPERIENCE:
1. Two years’ experience as a clinical or didactic instructor in a formal education program in Cardiovascular Sonography.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s degree in Education, Radiologic Sciences, or related field.

1. Administers the clinical and didactic components of the Echocardiography program to assure accreditation and institutional compliance.

4. Maintains continuous and open communication with department personnel, clinical instructors and students with respect to changes and updates in programmatic administration, and/or instructional policies and procedures.
5. Counsels and advises students on a minimum quarterly basis with respect to clinical and professional performance. Utilizes assessment mechanisms to identify potential clinical difficulties requiring remedial education or tutorial support.
6. Directs students with special concerns to the respective support agencies provided by the institution or external organizations.
7. Provides leadership and supervision for the clinical instructors and clinical staff. Assures that all academic and professional qualification are met and maintained.
8. Actively participates, as directed, in department operations through proactive involvement and communication with staff and administration.
9. Maintains and develops theEchocardiographyprogram in accordance with the standards set forth by theCommission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
10. Develops and advises on didactic and clinical instruction methodologies and curriculum in an effort to maintain quality and consistency with current technical requirements and practices.
11. Provides didactic instruction in Echocardiography as required by current course offerings, curriculum changes, and professional standards.
12. Maintains and develops a comprehensive master plan and other documentation which identifies and supports the program’s mission. Maintains student records as mandated by federal and state statutes.
13. Actively participates in patient care and imaging procedures in an effort to maintain professional and clinical skills and in support of the section’s service initiatives.
14. Utilizes various mechanisms for accurate outcome assessment and programmatic evaluation in an effort to identify and develop new systems for improved efficiency and enhanced delivery of services.
15. Provides input into the development and utilization of the department cost center budget with regards to materials and human resource allocation while supporting the organization’s current financial initiatives.
16. Develops and implements a comprehensive assessment plan for evaluation of the Echocardiography program as mandated by the CAAHEP and in reference to established department criteria.
17. Participates in departmental and organizational meetings, task forces, projects, and committees, as directed, in an effort to contribute to the attainment of established goals and objectives.
18. Participates in the development of in-house educational offering utilizing instructional skill and knowledge to enhance delivery and assess need.
19. Actively participates in professional development activities such as periodic attendance at professional society meetings, preparation and delivery of educational lectures, and self-directed academic pursuits.
