About the positionThe Department of Health Informatics and Data Science within the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health and the Department of Surgery within the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago are seeking a candidate for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level. The successful appointee will collaborate closely with Dr. Vivian Gahtan, Chair of Surgery, and Dr. Nicholas Soulakis, Chair of Health Informatics and Data Science and the Director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research (CHOIR). As this is a tenure-track position, the faculty member will be expected to teach and maintain an active role in research and service.

About The Parkinson School’s Department of Health Informatics and Data Science
Parkinson School is an innovative new school committed to applying an entrepreneurial philosophy of educational excellence, research, and service as a means to achieve the goals of improving human potential through health sciences and the promotion of health equity (Discover Parkinson’s vision: https://www.luc.edu/parkinson/). This state-of-the-art facility brings together the Stritch School of Medicine, Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, The Graduate School, and Loyola University Health System on an exciting cooperative journey with one unified goal—the rapid translation of fundamental science discoveries into real treatments for human health.Loyola University Chicago’s Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health is a home for a $25 million endowed Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research (CHOIR) with the mission of enhancing collaborative research across campuses on health outcomes and equity research. Additional CHOIR activities include directing intramural pilot awards, leading an educational seminar series, and providing resources for training students and faculty.
