$2,048.52 to $2,253.37 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced professional work directing and coordinating specially assigned programs and projects for the Risk Management Office. Work includes analyzing contracts and special permits in order to determine risk exposure and selection of appropriate insurance coverage and indemnification language; managing assets of a commercial property insurance program, including appraisals, National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and conducting departmental training; constructing and managing a property loss database for coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); producing data and reports for the annual Actuary evaluation, Florida Division of Worker’s Compensation Self-Insurers Payroll Report (SI-5), asset schedules, and other similar programs; conducting research and compiling data in order to respond to Public Records Requests (PRRs); capturing and interpreting statistical claim information for loss control functions; and producing data for the Budget Office insurance rate development. In addition, this position serves as a liaison with other County, State, Federal, and Community agencies. Employees in this class are expected to coordinate and manage operations with considerable independence and initiative.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Risk Management, Legal Studies, or a closely related field PLUS four (4) years of progressively responsible experience administering and/or managing programs or projects in property/casualty insurance, risk management, or contract management, which includes extensive experience working with Microsoft Excel or other similar software. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience utilizing SAP is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
