Job Description
The nation’s most innovative university seeks an innovative Brand Manager to support the ASU brand. ASU’s ability to positively impact our world depends on the strength and affinity for our brand – that’s where you come in. The Brand Manager supports requests from a community of marketers and helps identify ways that the brand and tools could be better defined and communicated. They enable others at ASU to proactively promote the brand by fielding requests and providing direction based on the ASU brand guide, subject matter experts and research. Communication and building strong relationships among brand and marketing constituents across ASU are key to this role. Reporting to the Managing Director of Brand Strategy, the Brand Manager collaborates with communicators and marketers at ASU schools and units and partner organizations to achieve marketing goals while maintaining ASU brand consistency.
This role is primarily focused on maintaining and enhancing the university’s brand identity. This involves ensuring that the ASU brand is consistently represented across all marketing materials, communications, and initiatives.
The Brand Manager reviews requests for the use of ASU’s brand and marks, making decisions based on the ASU brand guide and providing clear direction to requestors. They collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and resolve issues related to branding and signage.
The candidate is expected to become an expert on the ASU brand guide and use this knowledge to provide clear, cohesive direction to others.
2. Collaboration and communication:
The individual must build strong relationships with marketing and communication teams across ASU and partner organizations. Approaches work with a productive, service mindset.
They act as a connector, bringing together community needs and available resources. Collaboration involves meeting with various ASU community members to gather feedback and understand key issues.
Communication skills are crucial, as the Brand Manager must convey complex subject matter in a simple way for non-technical audiences. They also provide expert guidance and feedback to vendors supporting ASU marketing and brand efforts.
3. Coordination and proactivity:
The Brand Manager also works closely with project managers, team members and vendors to help ensure projects are advancing and being documented appropriately.
They proactively identify areas for improvement in workflow and processes to optimize efficiency.
Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills are emphasized, as the Brand Manager is expected to know and report the status of their projects.
Salary Range
$57,000 – $72,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
