PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Director of Student Services develops and oversees all co-curricular aspects of student
life at the College.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
HOUSING/DINING SERVICES
COMMUNITY STANDARDS, COUNSELING, AND ADVISEMENT
1. Enforces
Code of Student Conduct and coordinates appropriate disciplinary actions
2. Works cooperatively with all units within the College to
promote positive changes for student retention and graduation
3. Provides crisis management and de-escalation strategies for student
emergencies
4. Coordinates access to Health & Wellness resources and counseling services
5. Leads the College’s
Health & Safety Committee, in connection with the Dean and the President’s Office
SAFETY AND HEALTH
1. Creates and maintains the campus crime report in compliance with federal regulations (HEOA)
2. Maintain the College’s
emergency notification system.
3. Assists students in finding appropriate medical facilities and personal counseling services when
treatment is needed.
4. Distributes and coordinates all college-provided student medical insurance information
5. Liaison to
law enforcement and city safety offices
OTHER DUTIES
1. Updates student handbook and related publications,
reporting, and policies annually and in keeping with state and federal regulations.
2. Collaborates with the Dean and Enrollment
Management and Student Success Committee to collect data, analyze, and assess co-curricular student learning outcomes using various
assessment tools.
3. Serves as Co-Chair of the Student Success Committee
4. Manages the student services budget in alignment
with the College’s mission, strategic goals, and department objectives
5. Acts as the College’s ADA Compliance
Coordinator and assists the Dean in managing necessary accommodations for students
6. Collects relevant paperwork for all incoming
students, including, but not limited to, immunization records, tax forms, and emergency contact information
Qualifications
A Master’s degree and prior higher education experience are required. Other qualities for
the position include outstanding communication skills, creative problem-solving abilities, excellent organizational skills, and attention to
detail. Qualified candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; be highly organized and detail-oriented.
Proficiency in Office 365 and familiarity with Title IX and the Clery Act are a plus. Must be willing to take weekend on-calls and be
available for evening and weekend activities as needed.
