Position Summary:
The Lead Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services and as a resource for staff and students. Provides program oversight with processes and procedures to meet the referrals/patient’s expectations. Collaborate with communicate with appropriate medical providers: Establish best practices Establish protocols per diagnosis Set guidelines for prioritizing care and triage Establish outcomes data to support best practice Report to leadership improvements/changes needed to improve efficiency or care delivery Provide update to therapy leadership on projects and departmental initiatives
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Speech Language Pathology (SLP) License Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of Speech Language Pathology experience in acute setting
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Good working knowledge of the area of practice Excellent written and verbal communication especially during conflict Timely follow-though and accountability Good organizational skills Able to multi-task
