Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Advancement Communications, the Assistant Director, Copy Editing and Quality Assurance will be responsible for editing and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, quality and style of content across digital and print platforms and formats, including emails, Web pages, fundraising materials, publications, advertisements, marketing collateral and special projects for the Office of Institutional Advancement (IA). It is the responsibility of the Assistant Director, Copy Editing and Quality Assurance to ensure that all materials are free of error, easy to read, and conform to Temple University’s editorial guidelines and AP style.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field and at least three years of experience in an editorial support role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Proficiency in all standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. *Demonstrated writing and developmental editing, copyediting and proofreading expertise and familiarity with print and digital content across Web, email and social media platforms.
*Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
*Experience editing for Web, email, social media and print mediums.
*Proficiency in editing content to adhere to university-wide editorial style guidelines, best practices and industry standards of style.
*Ability to absorb and adopt appropriate style and tone according to audience, channel and strategy.
*Ability to convey / edit key messaging concepts through various types of engaging content.
*Experience in researching and fact-checking information with accuracy and efficiency; demonstrated ability to be extremely detail oriented.
*Proficient in discerning differences in standards among advertising, marketing and editorial copy.
*Ability to maintain highly confidential information appropriately.
*Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships across IA.
*Ability to attend / work IA staff events as needed, including occasional nights and weekends.
Preferred:
Experience working within university or non-profit fundraising.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
