Summary
Works under general supervision to Patient Transport Manager, Administrative Supervisor and Operations Supervisor. The Transporter ensures thatestablished safety procedures are followed throughout the transportation process. Monitors the proper functioning of all transportation equipment on a daily basis. Knowledge of patient safety, basic transportation equipment, infection control processes, clerical skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and good communication and organizational skills.

Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a hospital or hospital clinic environment. Requires standing, walking for long period of time and must be able to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment.
Requires walking, bending, pushing, stooping and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
Please Note: You may be required to transport Covid-19 suspected and/or positive patients. You will be provided with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The required PPE will involve a Fit Test. Proper fitting may necessitate trimming or shaving facial hair because beard growth or facial hair prevents a necessary seal between the respirator and the face.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.
This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code *51.215.
