The Business and Economics Department at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2024, to aid in the establishment of a newly launched Finance major. Responsibilities include teaching introductory finance courses and finance electives in a subset of fields that could include Personal Finance, Banking, Financial Risk Management, International Finance, Financial Markets, or a new elective developed in the candidate’s individual field of interest. Additional courses include the senior finance capstone and the interdisciplinary Common Intellectual Experience (CIE) seminar for first-year students. The teaching load is five courses (four credit hours each) per year, with one course release in the first year. Tenure-track faculty are also expected to establish a program of scholarship, supervise student research and honors projects, and take part in academic advising of majors and first-year students.
The department especially welcomes applications from candidates with additional interests in teaching data analytics, research methods in finance, and mentoring the student-run investment fund (UCIMCO). Interest in interdisciplinary research and teaching is a plus.
Qualifications
