Job Description or Duties:
The Department of Teacher Education is accepting applications for multiple Special
Education Lecturer faculty positions.. This position will include teaching face-to-face special education classes with some potential online
teaching; supervising special education student teaching and practicum experiences; advising undergraduate special education students; and
collaborating with K-12 schools. Other duties include serving on departmental, college, and university committees; and contributing
meaningfully to departmental, college, campus and university-wide areas of service.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a master’s degree in Education or a related field; have a minimum of three years of successful
special education teaching as the main teacher in a K-12 classroom and demonstrated knowledge of the US education system. Must have, or have
held, teacher certification in Special Education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant and successful
university teaching and skilled in distance learning and online course delivery methods, such as Canvas. Experience/expertise with any of
the following: Special Education, classroom management/assessment, field supervision, collaborative/cooperative learning, interdisciplinary
teaching, service and/or research, and evidence of positive impact on student learning with culturally responsive pedagogies and
practices.
