The center’s current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, community health systems development, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health. ABOUT THIS POSITION
The APD will serve as the equity scholar for the equity initiative. The equity scholar will lead the research, evaluation, and data for the initiative and will engage a team of staff and partners to implement these activities. This initiative includes significant investment in health equity pilots. It is important that we learn what works for whom in what circumstances in addressing disparities. The APD will be responsible for facilitating the engaged scholarship of research associates, providing mentorship where appropriate, and encouraging increased levels of peer-reviewed publication, as well as developing tools and products that are of high value to partners seeking to improve the health of their communities. This research and evaluation will culminate in a published book. The equity scholar will guide the development of a robust data system that will support the design, implementation, translation, and evaluation of the health opportunity pilot program that engages communities throughout the state of Georgia. In this capacity, the APD will collaborate with diverse leaders to articulate the vision and strategic plan for data system activities and reporting relevant to the program.

The salary for this position will range from $90,945 to $110,000. The position is sponsor-funded and is contingent upon funding.
GHPC is hiring three Assistant Project Directors for this initiative, each with a distinct focus, including equity scholarship, community of practice, and health opportunity pilots. Applicants must apply to the specific role(s) for which they are seeking consideration.

As such, job duties and/or responsibilities within the context of this job requisition may change at the discretion the employee’s direct supervisor.Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, health policy, health management, public health, public policy, or a related field and three years of related experience or master’s degree and five years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree and seven years of related experience. A comprehensive understanding of the social determinants of health, racial and health equity. Experience collaborating with diverse partner groups, and strong writing and communication skills are important.
It is expected that the candidate will have at least five years of experience in project management. The ideal candidate should have significant evaluation and/or technical assistance expertise and experience managing projects and teams where health systems change is a focus.
