Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm
Job Summary: Assists in research work in support of a major research project which may include duties such as gathering, tracking and entering data, preparing support material, etc.
Additional Department Summary: The Research Aide works in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering on the University of Alabama’s Tuscaloosa campus. This position will involve signal processing and application of deep neural networks to EEG data.
Required Minimum Qualifications: At least two (2) semesters of research support experience or a Bachelor’s degree. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student-oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Practical skills with Tensoflow and/or Keras, scikit-learn.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work in an engineering laboratory setting. Strong interaction and communication skills between scientists, engineers, and students; must be proficient in Python, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications: An undergraduate degree (or pursuing an undergraduate degree) in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
