Job Summary:
The Residency Program Manager for the UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health Madison Family Medicine Residency Program reports to the Program Director, Associate Program Directors, Institutional Coordinator and the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to provide management, oversight and expert consultation for the Madison Family Medicine Residency Program. This position will supervise and oversee the residency staff in the day-to-day operations of the residency program.

Responsibilities:
Manages the administrative activities of the residency/fellowship program as outlined in the accreditation program requirements and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for ensuring residents/fellows meet administrative and regulatory responsibilities while serving as the primary liaison between the Program Director, residents/fellows, program faculty, institutional Graduate Medical Education (GME) office, and affiliated teaching sites concerning program matters. Must demonstrate a broad knowledge of GME practices and principles, make recommendations and implement changes approved by program leadership, and may supervise or lead the work of others to ensure their programs achieve and maintain the highest quality standards in GME. Works under general supervision of the GME Programs Administrator, Department Administrator, or their designee, and in consultation and collaboration with the Program Director and the sponsoring institution’s DIO and Director of Graduate Medical Education.

Required:
* Successful track record of leadership in educational programming
* Demonstrated excellence and innovation in graduate medical education (preferred) or other educational programming
* Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and to work in multidisciplinary teams
* Effective communication, presentation, consultation and coaching skills
* Strong project management skills
* Successful supervisory and/or management experience
* Working knowledge of emerging health care, regulatory, workforce and educational trends that may impact graduate medical education
Preferred:
* Advanced proficiency with medical education applications including National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), New Innovations, and ACGME WebADS (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Web Accreditation Data System)
* Experience with an ACGME-accredited (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) Graduate Medical Education program

The University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is a large, tier-one clinical department in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). UW DFMCH has 171 faculty, 261 adjunct faculty, and 110 staff located throughout the state. Combined with its associated UW Health clinic operation, the department boasts over 750 total employees transforming health care in Wisconsin. The DFMCH is committed to patient care while also offering outstanding educational and research programs. There are over 150 residents in our sponsored and academic partner programs, and more than 400 medical students train in the department each year, with the Madison residency program ranking fifth in the nation for 2023. In fiscal year 2022, our physicians and residents practicing at 17 clinics throughout the state managed over 358,000 patient visits – an integral part of the department’s success.
