ASSOCIATE DEAN, RONGXIANG XU COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator III position.

The Position: The Associate Dean will report to the Dean of the College and assists the Dean in all aspects of college administration and management including broad responsibilities in the following major areas: support for initiatives related to equity, diversity, and inclusion; curriculum oversight including assessment and program review; undergraduate and graduate program development and oversight; leading the development of online degree programs and courses; oversight of the career and student support center; faculty onboarding; honors convocation and graduation coordination; and support for faculty research. The Associate Dean will also provide leadership for the college 2025 goals, student learning assessment, general education, and instructional technology. The Associate Dean represents the College when the Dean is absent. The successful candidate will be committed to the academic success of all our students and to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates diversity and differences. The incumbent will work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings and join faculty, staff, students, and administrators in our university’s shared commitment to the principles of engagement, service, and the public good.
Required Qualifications & Experience: A Ph.D. or related degree that satisfies eligibility for appointment to the rank of full professor in one of the departments or schools within the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services and at least three years of successful leadership ability demonstrated by service as a department chair or equivalent experience. Must possess excellent organizational, administrative, communication (both oral and written), and leadership skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Evidence of successful university teaching and research. Interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. Demonstrated history of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) leadership, such as the development of or active engagement in DEI efforts. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Experience with faculty development and mentoring in the areas of research, teaching, and leadership. Successful grant writing experience and funded research. A history of research publications, scholarly, and/or creative activities. Experience and demonstrated success in curriculum development. Knowledge of student affairs policies and procedures. Familiarity with: faculty personnel policy and procedures; the collective bargaining environment; and Cal State LA policies governing curriculum, instruction, and student affairs.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $4,583 – $14,713/monthly. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
Appointment: The Administrator III appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
This position is a “designated position” in the California State University’s Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
