Georgia is conducting a search for an Assistant or Associate Dean for Clinical Compliance. This is an exciting opportunity as the
incoming Assistant or Associate Dean will serve in an inaugural capacity within the Dental College of Georgia (DCG). Salary and academic
rank are commensurate with qualifications. Reporting to the Dean, and working in collaboration with the administrative team, the Assistant
or Associate Dean for Clinical Compliance provides leadership, direction and integration of compliance activities to fulfill the DCG
clinical mission needs and state and federal regulations. Directs integrated implementation and evaluation of compliance initiatives and
on-going activities for the DCG (and Augusta University Health), predoctoral and dental residency programs, as well as the faculty practice.
The Assistant or Associate Dean will also develop and maintain a proactive approach to quality assurance and compliance within the DCG
clinics. This Assistant or Associate Dean is responsible for establishing standards and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that
the clinic operations compliance programs throughout the DCG are effective and efficient in, preventing, detecting/identifying and
correcting noncompliance with DCG, AUDA and AUHealth clinical standards of care and billing and coding policies. The DCG Infection Control
and Safety Officer will report to the Assistant or Associate Dean for Clinical Compliance and assist with clinical compliance health and
safety standards.
Responsibilities
Implements and monitors the DCG Clinical Compliance Program to include short and long
term goals.Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding the practice of dentistry (i.e. DEA, OSHA, GDPH, OSAP).Conducts
retrospective clinical and coding audits for residency and faculty practice clinics.Reviews audit findings and ensures appropriate remedial
action is taken.Conducts inspections of clinical and clinical support spaces.Provides annual clinically-related compliance
training.Supervises and provides direction to the DCG Director of Audit and Compliance and oversees three DCG auditors/coders. Supervises
and provides direction to the DCG Infection Control and Safety Officer.Indirectly reports to Augusta University’s Office of Compliance and
Risk Management.Works collaboratively with the Augusta University Health’s Dental Service Chief.
Required Qualifications
DDS/DMD degree required or foreign DDS/DMD equivalent. Eligible for an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of
Georgia.
Assistant Dean – 3 to 5 years’ experience in academic administration
Associate Dean – 5 or more years’
experience in academic Administration
Previously held a significant leadership role in a complex, multi-faceted university, clinical
group practice, or dental school with proven ability to provide leadership to other dentists, health care professionals and staff in
clinical operations. Demonstrated proficiency and applied knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulatory requirements pertaining
to the practice of dentistry, clinical standards, and billing practices. Ability to collaborate and develop and implement relevant policies
affecting clinical activities throughout the DCG. Ability to use independent judgment to manage those areas of assigned responsibility and
to manage and covey confidential information. Demonstrated supervisory, employee development, and leadership skills.

Proficient in dental electronic health records for auditing and
reporting functions.
Preferred Educational Qualifications
AEGD and/or accredited residency/specialty training and/or
healthcare management training is desirable. Current specialty board certification if applicable.

Demonstrated successful operation of a multi-specialty clinical practice. Possess a minimum of five years of
significant management experience.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works
year-round.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered
full-time.
Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to
availability of funds.
