CARB-X has an unparalleled opportunity for a talented individual to join our core team in the role of Project Manager. CARB-X accelerates the pre-clinical development of products to address antibiotic resistance, including drugs, vaccines and diagnostics. The scope of CARB-X work includes soliciting applications for funding from external organizations, evaluating applications, granting awards, supporting awardees, and monitoring progress. Over $400M has been committed to this work so far, and over 350 applications for funding have been processed. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining business processes and rules required to achieve the CARB-X mission. Additional responsibilities include establishing information management practices for all documents and communications relating to CARB-X; making recommendations to the core CARB-X team regarding appropriate project methodologies for a variety of project types; and developing and implementing quality assurance mechanisms to ensure information is at the required level for stakeholders, regulators, and auditors. The Project Manager will be required to track and report on project progress for a complex series of applications, subawards, and contracts for biomedical research in dozens of locations around the world. The Project Manager will also be actively involved in scientific and governance assessments. Bachelors degree required. Project management certification (e.g. PMP) is valuable, but not required. At least 3 years of previous experience is preferred, but entry-level candidates with demonstrated success in project-based learning such as completion of a capstone project will be considered. The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented and have experience in or aptitude to develop quality assurance measures. This position requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and be flexible in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Experience as a power-user with collaborative software (e.g., box) is preferred. Experience with drug discovery and/or development in biotech or pharma, as well as experience with antibiotic R&D, are valuable but not required.
