The Director, Patient Access and Affordability Programs is responsible for the strategy, development, and ensuring affordability and access to patients living with HIV or people who could benefit from prevention of HIV through the management of various patient affordability programs. This role will enable patients to get started on the prescribed treatment as quickly as possible while balancing brand performance and organizational goals and objectives. The role will be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and ongoing day-to-day management of patient affordability programs provided by third-party partners. We are seeking an experienced collaborator with a solid understanding of patient affordability programs that is passionate about our mission of Leaving No Patient Living with HIV Behind.
This role is based out of ViiV’s US Headquarters in Durham, NC & is eligible for relocation assistance to the Durham-Raleigh-Chapel Hill & surrounding areas.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…
* Design, develop and execute patient affordability solutions (e.g. Co-pay Savings Cards, Patient Assistance Programs, etc.) and patient access strategies that align with both brand and ViiV Healthcare patient
access strategies, goals, and objectives
* Responsible for managing multiple service providers and vendors providing services for the financial affordability programs as well as overseeing and maintaining high service level standards
* Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report back to Stakeholders with key observations as well as insight driven recommendations for potential improvements and optimizations
* Proactively conduct competitive and market analysis and present recommendations to Senior Leadership that help ViiV Healthcare anticipate and stay in front of key emerging competitor/market trends
* Drive more efficient use of program budgets by closely monitoring program costs, proactively identifying optimizations as well as building future finance forecasts
* Collaborate closely with Market Access Team to ensure strategic alignment between evolving payer access strategies and Co-Pay Affordability and/or Patient Assistance programs
* Support ViiVConnect Marketing and Brand Marketing in developing affordability promotional materials for patients and providers
* Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and finance to ensure full compliance with financial access programs
* Drive strong cross-functional engagements with key Stakeholders across Leadership, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Market Access, Marketing, Insights, and Sales
* Responsible for all day-to-day operations of ViiV Healthcare Co-Pay Savings Offer Programs and/or Patient Assistance Programs, including issue management, budgeting, processes, documents, and reporting
* Serve as the primary point-of-contact for all ViiV Healthcare Co-Pay Savings Offer Programs and/or Patient Assistance Programs
* Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy trends
* Explore and pursue new technologies and capabilities that help ViiV Healthcare continue to meet the needs of its customers
* Participate in relevant industry conferences to stay abreast of vendor capabilities, legal/compliance/regulatory requirements and industry/market changes and trends impacting patient services programs
(including PAP, Reimbursement, Copay, Coupons and Free Trial Offers)

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Healthcare
* 5 plus years of experience in areas of market access/patient support/copay/patient assistance/reimbursement, and/or finance, including vendor management and experience in patient affordability programs
* Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting patient services and financial programs
* Experience managing patient and provider support hubs and services
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
* MBA or advanced degree.
* Vendor management skills and experience
* Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends and inform strategy
* Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment impacting patient services and financial programs along with demonstrated integrity on the job
* Previous experience managing patient and provider support hubs and services in a compliant manner.
* Proven success in working within a complex matrix organization
* Possess strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
* Proven project management experience with the ability to direct and manage multiple projects, under pressure, at one time
* Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity
