Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Communications Coordinator at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia at UGA, this part-time student position in communications will be responsible for advertising garden events utilizing print media, social media, and the garden’s website. This position will primarily create advertising materials for the Friends of the Garden and other garden activities as assigned.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:
A qualified candidate for this position should have a strong background in social media and graphic design. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are expected. Flexibility to work some weekends and nights is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :
Applicants that would be mutually beneficial for the position would be journalism majors with an interest or experience in horticulture or ecology, horticulture majors with media experience, and marketing majors with an interest in horticulture or nonprofit organizations.
