Summary:
Candidates are being considered for a full-time position as the Research Assistant/Study Coordinator of a multi-year clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of an online cognitive-behavioral intervention for dental anxiety (funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research). Primary responsibilities of the Research Assistant will be to recruit study participants; conduct assessment/diagnostic and debriefing interviews; complete ratings of diagnostic reliability and adherence to protocol; track attendance at scheduled appointments for dental care and maintain participant files; and distribute E-gift cards to study participants. In addition, the Research Assistant will assist with human subjects (IRB) activities; and collecting, entering and analyzing data. Specific duties include (after appropriate training):conducting recruiting calls to potential study participants; conducting assessment/diagnostic interviews; conducting debriefing interviews as participants complete various parts of the protocol; completing ratings of diagnostic reliability and adherence to protocol; tracking attendance at scheduled appointments for dental care; assisting with human subjects (IRB) activities related to the study; data collection, data entry, data management; required to handle gift cards for study participants, maintaining participant files and other administrative duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field and at least 6 months experience in human subjects research. Including experience working with SPSS or similar statistical packages. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
*Must have strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
*Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
*Must have sound judgments with the ability to make independent decision.
*Ability to work with others as part of a collaborative research team.
*Strong data analysis skills and ability to use statistical software, such as SPSS and Excel
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
*Experience with anxiety related research.
This position requires a background check.
