The Coordinator position has five primary functions:
Manage the operations of the Basic Needs Hub.
Coordinate the functions of the FoodShare.
Coordinate the marketing & communications for the Hub and all of its various functions.
Assess all areas of The Hub.
Support outreach & education efforts. Manage the operations of the Basic Needs Hub. Create and maintain up to date operations manuals for all functions of the Hub. This includes training manuals that student staff and/or volunteers would utilize. Hire, train, and supervise student staff, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage for the Hub. Ensure that all services being provided support the diverse needs of the student community. Coordinate the functions of the FoodShare. Maintain a positive relationship with the Maryland Food Bank, place and receive orders, ensure food is managed to ensure safety, best practices in pantry management, and supports the needs of college student nutrition and food preferences. Become ServeSafe certified and ensure the FoodShare maintains Health Department standards to ensure food service licensing. Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of the Foodshare space. Coordinate the marketing & communications for the Hub and all of its various functions. Maintain the website for the Hub. Oversee the social media accounts for the Hub. Coordinate with the AmeriCorps Vista to provide consistent messaging in all education and outreach efforts that appropriately reflect the Hub’s offerings. Ensure that all marketing and communications take the diverse needs of the student population into account. Assess all areas of the Hub. Maintain user statistics and demographic information for all functional areas of the Hub. Support and coordinate assessment projects that connect to the Student Affairs Strategic Priorities. Provide relevant data to campus stakeholders to accurately depict the story of the Hub and its benefits to the campus community. Support outreach & education efforts. In collaboration with the AmeriCorps Vista, provide education and outreach efforts to the campus community to increase consciousness of the impact of poverty and foster capacity building to decrease poverty. Topics for education and outreach efforts could include food insecurity, nutrition, financial literacy and planning, SNAP benefits education, community resource access, and more. Serve on university and divisional committees and task forces as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
