Appointment: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy to begin fall 2024.
The University of Puget Sound School of Physical Therapy seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy to begin Fall 2024. The successful candidate will have expertise in neuroscience, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and pathophysiology. The standard teaching load is 6 units per academic year. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Clinical Neuroscience and Neuroanatomy for Physical Therapy and other course work as negotiated. The teaching load will be completed with some combination of the following: mentoring of student research, mentoring/instructing students in our on-site physical therapy clinic, and teaching an advanced clinical elective in an area of special interest. Candidates are expected to engage in departmental advising and admissions, as well as university service.
Responsibilities:
This position carries primary responsibility for teaching required courses in the Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Additional duties include graduate student advising, ongoing curriculum evaluation and development, continuation and dissemination of one’s own scholarly work, participation in the admissions processes, and participation in department and university service. Standard teaching assignment is six units, primarily assigned in the fall and spring semesters.
Qualifications:
Highly Desired: Board certified Clinical Specialist by American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Faculty salaries at the University of Puget Sound are based on a common salary scale based on experience. Assistant Professor salaries began at $69,074 for an assistant professor in their first year of full-time post-doctorate teaching. This position is currently offering an overscale payment of $10,000 annually at the level of assistant professor.
