The outpatient biller/auditor provides administrative and clerical support for Rehabilitation Services. Major duties include processing billing reconciliation and audits, and maintaining information in electronic medical record. Acts as liaison between Patient Business Services and Rehab Services. Prepares supporting documentation for payors as requested by Patient Business Services.
Salary range: 26.99-38.66 Hourly
Ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Skill in making appropriate and effective decisions based on needs of the customer, priorities of the department, and Medical Center and Department Policies and Procedures.
Ability to work as a member of a team, including sharing knowledge, giving and receiving feedback, taking initiative to assist others, problem solving and providing an atmosphere conducive to learning.
Familiarity with basic computer functions including word processing programs and online mail systems
Working knowledge of Encounter Registration system. EPIC preferred.
Working knowledge of payor billing requirements, on-line billing system, and CPT-4, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for Rehabilitation Services.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Skill in working in distracting and pressured environments with flexibility, good concentration, and minimal supervision.
Skill in setting priorities with fluctuating demands and workloads.
Working knowledge of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and prosthetics and orthotics treatments and terminology.
Reading skills to understand documents such as intake forms, therapist or patient written instructions, and hospital guidelines written in standard English text.
Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
