Summary
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager will collaborate closely with ISR”s faculty DEI Director. The DEI Program Manager should possess strong project management skills and well as previous work experience with advancing the goals of diversity, equity and inclusion work. The DEI Program Manager will work closely with staff and faculty, as well as those who serve on the Institute’s Diversity Committees. The University is entering a second, five-year phase of DEI planning and programming after an inaugural five year planning and implementation phase. The Program Manager will help with project management of DEI initiatives, providing leadership and development of DEI training and education programs and help drive implementation of DEI initiatives and programming throughout the research centers and programs. The DEI Program Manager, along with ISR leadership, will manage diversity-related projects to ensure initiatives are moving forward as we strive to embed inclusivity and DEI initiatives to advance ISR’s efforts to attract and retain a diverse workforce. The Program Manager will ensure the research is reflective of the ISR’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and respect throughout the Institute, our Centers, and programs.
Who We Are
The Institute for Social Research (ISR), the world’s largest academically-based social science research institute, invites applications for a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager to work with ISR leadership on the implementation and continuous improvement of its DEI efforts.
ISR is composed of five research centers and one administrative center, the Center for Institute Services (CIS), the home center for this position. The ISR research centers include: Center for Political Studies (CPS), Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), Population Studies Center (PSC), Research Center for Group Dynamics (RCGD), and Survey Research Center (SRC). Centers vary in size and structure, each with its own governance and administrative structures designed to support Center specific scientific and intellectual research agendas. ISR’s consolidated annual operating revenue is derived almost entirely from external research grants and contracts. ISR has 350 affiliated faculty and over 1,250 staff, including 600 contingent staff across the country. The Michigan Program in Survey Methodology (MPSM), housed at ISR, offers degree programs at the doctoral, master’s, and certificate levels.

Responsibilities*
Program Management and Strategic Planning
Evaluation and Measurement
Training and Culture
Provide leadership on the development and implementation of diversity related educational training, events and programs to build the ISR Community’s knowledge, skills, and awareness.
Recruitment and Retention
Partner with ISR leadership and Human Resources in the recruitment and retention of diverse faculty, staff, and students promoting bias reduction and supporting diversity recruitment initiatives.

Work Schedule
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, working at least three days per week on-site in Ann Arbor, MI after an initial training period. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the business needs of the hiring department, throughout the course of employment.
