Experienced Toxic Tort/Environmental Law Researcher/Investigator

We are looking for a full-time professional researcher or investigator with knowledge of toxic tort/environmental law matters who possesses the unique skills and desires associated with fulfilling investigation services for clients such as law firms, in-house legal departments, and insurance companies. We are seeking someone who has a thorough understanding of asbestos products and is well versed in identifying and researching potential alternative causation exposure sources.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize your knowledge and understanding of asbestos containing products to identify potential alternative causation sources
• Identify and confirm employment history and residential history for individuals.
• Request and obtain items such as building permits, inspection reports, abatement records, OSHA records, AHERA records, EPA records, corporate records, and various kinds of maps and historical plans
• Conduct Interviews of fact witnesses
• Conduct company background research including prior litigation and identifying former employees Summarize records and write reports.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 4-year college degree
• 5+ years of conducting research, requesting records, organizing documents.
• 5+ years industry experience with toxic tort/environmental law or product liability
• Experience with complex fact investigations and alternative causation research
• An existing understanding of the various agencies responsible for maintaining environmental documents Thorough knowledge of various products manufactured with asbestos and other chemicals/pollutants Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards associated with asbestos and environmental exposure Knowledge of the court system
• Knowledge of online databases and historical archives
• Legal report writing experience.
• Currently licensed or capable of being licensed as a private investigator.
• Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
• Self-motivated
• Requires potential travel and serves a national client base

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with legal technology services is a plus
• Case management experience a plus
• Proficiency in CRM and case management systems is a plus
• Established industry relationships that can be leveraged for new sales/revenue generation a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,513.51 – $95,736.61 per year
